Developing a suggestion by Lester Little, Patrick Geary, President last year, then First-Vice-President Herbert Kessler, and Executive Director Paul E. Szarmach co-signed a letter of congratulations last February to the President and Founding Members of the newly-formed Japan Society for Medieval European Studies.
