Purpose: To assist independent scholars, scholars not on tenure-track lines, scholars in part-time employment, and senior graduate students. This committee also selects the winners of the Medieval Academy Dissertation Grants and Travel Grants.

Composition: A chair and two other members, including an independent scholar, appointed by the Council.

Term: Three years, rotating.*
